Have you ever had a concussion? I had one two years ago – when falling from my own pull-up bar.
I had been doing a pull-up contest with my brother. Who could do the most pull-ups in a specific time! That seemed like a nice workout idea (and in fact, competitive training is great) until you get greedy and disregard proper form. So I jumped at the pull-up bar to pull myself up faster, my legs swinging forward – and my hands slipped from the bar. So a pull-up contest led to me lying in hospital for a night.
After some months hiatus from pull-ups I started doing them again – now focussing on proper exercise form!

My first memory of running was actually running away. Being fed up with something my mother had told me, I ran all the way from Kindergarten to my grandpa – which was about 2 miles.
Being 4 years old, and considering all the busy streets that I came across on these 2 miles, it was no wonder that my mother was REALLY upset. But instead of grounding me, she did something that I will be eternally grateful for – putting me in the local children athletics team.
Fast forward to now, more than 1,5 decades later, I still run – and I love to run.
